**** I AM VERY SAD TO ANNOUNCE THAT BATTLE OF BRITAIN LEGEND, WING COMMANDER JOHN FREEBORN, PASSED AWAY THIS MORNING - 28TH AUGUST 2010. 'Johnny' Freeborn flew Spitfires with 74 Squadron from Hornchurch and flew more operational hours than any other Pilot. He will be sadly missed. ****
**** I am sad to report that the great JG52 Ace Walter Wolfrum has also recently passed away. Serving almost exclusively on the 'Ostfront', Wolfrum won the Knights Cross. ****

Nicolas Trudgian is one of the most talented aviation artists working today. His paintings and drawings are highly sought after for their skillful composition, stunning colours and superb accuracy. Whatever the subject, whether it be Spitfires 'scrambling' in the Battle of Britain, Messerschmitt 262 jets over the Alps or P-51 Mustangs over a sleepy village, what really draws collectors to Nick's work are the stunning landscapes and backdrops and the moods he manages to capture in his paintings. Even such difficult 'combat' scenarios, such as the great tank Battle at Kursk [below] are given the highest detail and accuracy! Nick also paints Steam Trains with the same degree of detail and enthusiasm as his aircraft, this being one of Nick's areas of speciality. Indeed, Nick has recently driven his "100th" locomotive !!

Welcome to the site!
My name is Nick Maue and for many years I have been helping Nicolas Trudgian with research for his many projects. Nick really appreciates that it is essential to ensure that historical accuracy should be strived for at all times and, whilst this is sometimes very difficult to achieve, it is worth the effort to know that a Painting is as accurate as possible.
This site contains some of Nick's rarest Prints for Sale, original oils [when available] and drawings and the latest news and releases. It will also feature articles about Nick, with insights behind some of his best known works. Although Nick is known primarily for his aviation paintings and drawings this site will also include examples of Nick's other great enthusiasm - Steam Trains.
Commissions through 'Nick's Aviation Art'
I am very proud to offer a unique service for Customers Commissioning Oil Paintings or drawings through this site. As mentioned above, historical accuracy is important to every project. I shall personally undertake any research required for ALL Commissions ordered through Nick's Aviation Art and personally liaise with Nicolas Trudgian to prepare the design for each Customer!

Additionally, because many of the Prints offered here have additional signatures, each will be issued with its own Certificate of Authenticity documenting all of the Signatories on the Print in question.
