ROBERT TAYLOR
MIDWAY - TURNING OF THE TIDE

One of Robert's older releases from 1989, this evocative print pays tribute to the critical role of the Douglas Dauntless dive-bomber at the Battle of Midway. In a cagey, touch and go situation, the Americans managed to surprise the japanese fleet and destroy four of their precious carriers. The Imperial Japanese fleet never fully recovered from this devastating defeat. Instrumental in sinking the carriers was the Navy Dauntless Dive-bomber and it is the Dauntless aircraft of VB6 from the USS Enterprise that Robert has captured on their way to attack the enemy carriers. The print is signed by FOUR Dauntless aircrew who flew at Midway:
Dick BEST
Edward ANDERSON
Don ELY
Wilbur ROBERTS
This copy was previously Framed but it has only two very small marks on the back and bottom of the print that are hardly noticable. Otherwise this is a mint copy. Unfortunately it does NOT have its CoA - I have therefore Priced it accordingly.
A great opportunity to acquire one of Robert's early releases at a bargain price!
