GERMAN MULTI-SIGNED SPECIALS

A higly collectable special series of prints concentrating on the Armed Forces of Germany during the Second World War and featuring some astounding multi-signed Editions. These Editions are the product of years of work by Stefan Korlin in Germany, who has joined forces with Nicolas Trudgian to create some of the most sought-after Editions on the market. They encompass all elements of the German Armed Forces, including the Luftwaffe, Panzerwaffe and Kriegsmarine.

Special No1 - 'THE BIG GUNS'

By the Autumn of 1944 the tide of war had turned completely against Germany. With huge Allied offensives in both the East and the West, German forces were hard pressed to hold the Allied juggernaut. In the east, the Soviets pushed relentlessly on against a hopelessly outnumbered German foe but they suffered appalling losses against some of the most experienced soldiers in the world. In the air the Luftwaffe continued to give of its best and, over the Hungarian mountains and plains, the finest of the Luftwaffe continued to fight the Soviets with desperate courage. In Nick's superb painting, the world's two highest scoring fighter pilots - Erich Hartmann and gerd barkhorn provide close escort to the Ju87G's and Fw190F's of SG2 "Immelmann" led by the great Hans-Ulrich Rudel. Together the 'Big Guns' set out for another strike at the advancing Red Army.

A superb picture by Nicolas Trudgian signed by no less than 10 legendary JG52 Knights Cross holders and one 'Immelmann' Knights Cross holder.

Signed by an unrivalled collection of ten JG52 Knights Cross holders, many of whom have since passed away;

Gunther Rall, Walter Krupinski, Alfred Grislawski, Adolf Dickfeld, Victor Peterman, Franz Woidich, Rudolf Trenkel, Walter Wolfrum, Edmund Rossmann, Heinz Ewald and 'Immelmann' Knights Cross holder Hans Krohn.

Special No2 - "THE COLD FRONT"

During the bitter winter of 1943-44, the fighting on the Eastern front reached a new level of intensity. Soviet offensives had pushed back the depleted german forces and, in order that the front be stabilised a crack formation was moved to the area - the 1st SS Panzer Division 'LAH'. Among its number were some of the finest Panzer Commanders of the war, including Michael Wittmann. They were immediately effective - Soviet tank losses became extremely heavy and 1st SS continued their reputation as an elite fighting formation.

In this superb painting, the Panthers of 1st S.S. Pz. Rgt. move forward to engage Soviet armour, passing a Tiger of the 13th Heavy Tank Company. Overhead, Fw190As of Hptm
Erich Rudorffer's II/JG54 lend support by hunting for Soviet ground attack
aircraft ahead of the Panzer spearhead.

The Signatures:
All the signatures are Knight's Cross holders, and these SS tank commander

 Special No3 - 'SEA WOLVES'

This fantastically atmospheric new release from Nick Trudgian pays tribute to the long campaign conducted by the U-boats in the Atlantic. Despite heavy losses they continued their struggle with great courage. In the painting, Captain Erich Topp steers his Type VIIc U-Boat number U-552 'Red Devil' towards the sanctuary of the base at St Nazaire after another patrol during the gruelling Battle of the Atlantic in 1942. In the skies above, heading back out to hostile waters is a giant Focke Wulf 200 Condor from III/KG40 and three Ju88Ds from KGr 106 whose missions will be to search for vulnerable Allied shipping for the submarine 'Wolf Packs' to attack. The third-highest scoring U-Boat ace, Captain Topp sank a total of thirty ships and damaged three more whilst commanding the 'Red Devil'.

Every print in the Edition is signed by Nicolas Trudgian and countersigned by German U-Boat crew and Luftwaffe Bomber Pilots - all Knights Cross holders:

Special No4 'SLOWING THE RED TIDE"

By the early months of 1945 the Soviets had reached German soil in East Prussia. The Germans were now in desperate straits - Units were only a shadow of their former strength, replacements were minimal and morale was at an all time low. Despite all of these handicaps, and the colossal strength of the enemy, the German forces continued to resist with great courage, especially when hundreds of thousands of German civilians were fleeing from the advancing Red Army. Weather conditions became appalling, with heavy snowfall and freezing conditions. Amazingly, the battered Germans actually took the offensive to smash a corridor through the encircling Soviets to allow more civilians to escape. Spearheaded by the Tigers and King Tigers of Heavy Tank battalion 505, the Germans punched through and held the corridor open for a week - against a huge Soviet force of no less than 6 Divisions!

Nick Trudgian's fantastic painting features the Tigers of 505 advancing into a deserted village having destroyed a number of T34/85 tanks. Overhead, the Fw190A's of the Stab. JG51 provide aerial support over a bleak East Prussian winter scene. Meanwhile the Yak 3's of the famed 'Normandie-Niemen' attempt to break up the Fw190's as they race back to base to re-arm and re-fuel. A superb rendition of the final stages of the war in the East.

This fantastic print is available in two signed editions:

Special No6 - "SUMMER STORM"

The sixth German 'Special' is the first print published to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain. During the initial campaigns in World war Two the Luftwaffe was equipped with only one main fighter - the Messerschmitt Bf109E. This aircraft had already shown itself to be a deadly fighter over Poland, Farnce and the low countries. Now it was facing it's greatest test - the Hurricanes and Spitfires of Fighter Command. Flown by some of the most experienced fighter pilots of the time, the Me109E proved to be a deadly adversary, especially in the hands of an 'Experte' such as Adolf Galland. Nick has chosen to depict Galland's Me109E leading off elements of JG26 from the airfield at Audembert. In the background other Me109's await their turn to take off on a late evening mission that will once again test Fighters Commands resolve.
