SIGNED Battle Of Britain FIRST DAY COVER - OBERLEUTNANT GERHARD GRANTZ - Adjutant I/ZG2
Gerhard Kranz was the Adjutant of Stab I/ZG2 flying the Messerschmitt Bf110 'Zerstorer' fighter.
On the 7th September 1940 he was flying as a fighter escort to Luftwaffe Bombers when his section were engaged by RAF Hurricane fighters. Granz was shot down in the ensuing dogfight over Billericay, Essex and was made POW.
