DUXFORD EAGLES By Nicolas Trudgian - REMARQUE
One of Nick's most sought-after prints 'DUXFORD EAGLES' was released to the Market in 2000 and became an instant success with collectors around the world.
The 78th FG arrived at Duxford Airfield in 1943 and initially flew the P-47 Thunderbolt. The Group converted to the superlative P-51 Mustang in time for the final aerial battles over the Reich.
Nick's superb scene features the P-51D Mustangs of the 78th Fighter Group roaring off the Duxford runway in March 1945. Led by the 'Ace' Colonel John Landers in his fantastically adorned Mustang 'Big Beautiful Doll', the 78th will escort another force of US 'heavies' deep into Germany.
The Print is Signed by TWO highly distinguished 78th FG Pilots who flew the P-51D Mustang:-
LIEUTENANT COLONEL CLARK W. CLEMONS
CAPTION WAYNE L. COLEMAN
