HALIFAX'S OF 466 SQUADRON - MULTI-SIGNED ORIGINAL PENCIL DRAWING
By Nicolas Trudgian
Bomber Command fought one of the longest - and costliest - campaigns of WW2. Beginning modestly with aircraft such as the Blenheim and Hampden, Bomber Command's fleet gravitated towards ever larger, 4 engined 'heavies' with two types in particular becoming legends.
The Lancaster has come to be the most famous RAF Bomber of the war but it's partner - the Handley Page Halifax was also a robust and well-liked 'heavy' flown by many Squadrons.
This fantastic Original Drawing by Nicolas Trudgian pays tribute to the crews of the Halifax by depicting those of 466 Squadron at their airfield at Driffield. The armourer's handle a trolley load of Bombs towards an awaiting halifax as another returns to the airfield.
The Paper is Signed by 30 Bomber Command veterans:-
