TOMMY LEADER - Original Pencil Drawing by Robert Taylor
Over 10 years ago, in tribute to one of the RAF's most distinguished pilots, Robert Taylor released a limited edition Print and Book set - 'Tommy Leader' - highlighting the career of Tom Dalton-Morgan. During the height of the Battle of Britain Tom flew Hurricanes with 43 Squadron and later flew Spitfires, the Hawker Tempest and even P-51 Mustangs when attached to the US 4th Fighter Group 8th Air Force!
This is the superb original concept pencil drawing of 'Tommy Leader' by Robert Taylor. It depicts Tom Dalton-Morgan's Hurricane escorting home a fellow pilot during the hectic days of August 1940.
This is a large drawing which measures an impressive 23.5 x 16.5 Inches and is packed full of pencil detail by Robert. The landscape and fields of southern England are all there, as well as a detail missing from the final painting - a Hurricane returns home trailing smoke (between the two main Hurricanes).
The Drawing is unframed and has been Signed by Artist Robert Taylor AND 15 Battle of Britain aircrew that flew all of the fighter types during that vital Summer of 1940:-
