TWILIGHT CONQUEST by Nicolas Trudgian REMARQUE
The P-61 'Black Widow' was the US Air Forces purpose-built Night fighter of WW2. Large, fast and well-armed, it flew in both the Pacific and European theatres.
The highest scoring P-61 Unit was the 422nd Night Fighter Squadron, which flew in Europe and it is this Unit that Nicolas Trudgian has chosen to depict in his classic 1995 release 'Twilight Conquest'.
On 24th October 1944 the CO of the 422nd NFS - Colonel Oris B. Johnson - locked onto a flight of three Fw190's in the last evening glare. Singling out the leader, Johnson scores hits all over the Fw190 and brings his guns to bear on a second.
The 422nd NFS will achieve 43 victories and will fly during the epic Ardennes Offensive - the 'Battle of the Bulge'.
The Print has been signed by Oris Johnson and three other veterans of the 422nd:-
