TYPHOON ATTACK By Norman Franks
SPECIAL MULTI-SIGNED EDITION
This classic book by historian Norman Franks focusses on the men who flew the awesome Hawker Typhoon fighter during the latter stages of World War 2. The 'Tiffie' as it became known was not an easy aircraft to fly compared with the Spitfire, nor was it as agile but the Typhoon made up for those drawbacks by being a tremedously rugged aircraft, perfectly suited to the task of ground-attack.
Whether using rockets, bombs or it's 20mm cannon, the Typhoon became a legend within the ranks of the Second Tactical Air Force, flying into lethal clouds of German Flak to deliver it's payload and blast a way through for the advancing Allied Units.
The Typhoon and it's pilots fought their way through Normandy, into Holland and over the Ardennes, finally advancing onto German soil.
This is the 2003 Grub Street updated Edition which was issued with a Special Limited Edition Bookplate of only 25 Signed by 5 veteran Hawker Typhoon pilots:-
